Bathe in the nourishing resonance of music and mantra from many ancient traditions.

Kirtan is the singing of sacred chants in a call and response format. It is a very simple and powerful way to meditate.  Kirtan practice is an effortless and joyful practice, that by-passes the mind and easily reaches the heart.  The ancient chants contain powerful renewing and transformative energy that helps us reconnect with the goodness or divinity that resides within each one.

All welcome,  no previous experience in mantra meditation/chanting or yoga necessary.

FEEL FREE TO COME WHEN YOU CAN

AND STAY FOR AS LONG AS YOU NEED

The Mahamrityunjaya mantra is an ancient and very powerful mantra used to bring courage and transformation in the face of life's challenges.  It carries a resonance which facilitates healing, nurturance and relief from suffering on all levels, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.

If you know someone who is suffering or in distress, please feel free to ask for their name to be placed in our circle.

We chant for the benefit of all and more specifically for those whom we name.

We have recently been blessed with full and new moons occurring on days when kirtan has been arranged and combining the two practices has led to some very special evenings. This has also meant that the practice of chanting the beautiful Mahamrityunjaya mantra 108 times has moved to a range of venues around Christchurch.

If you would like to host a session in your home on a full or new moon, please let Mahadevi know.

We have settled on a time of 6pm – after work (for those who finish work in the late afternoon) and before the evening meal.

The actual chanting takes less than half an hour, but we usually allow for 3/4 of an hour to give us all time to settle in before we start and time to sit quietly and absorb the effect of the practice  afterwards before we head home.

There is no charge to attend these sessions and no “social” time.

Your koha is greatly appreciated to assist the work of the

Yoga Education in Prisons Trust.

Looking forward to our continuing connection through mantra.

Everyone welcome.
