Term 2 2012: 30th April - 22nd June (8 weeks)
Introduction to

The Introduction Course is meant for beginners and also those new to SATYANANDA YOGA.
Over the 10 weeks you will be introduced to the foundational practices of Satyananda Yoga, which include the Pawanmuktasana series 1,2&3, Sun Salute (Surya Namaskara) yogic breathing practices and Satyananda Yoga Nidra (deep guided relaxation). You will also learn the ancient yogic practice of jala neti - an effective way to keep nasal passages and sinuses well functioning.
General Class
These classes are for all levels (minimum requirement: 10 week introduction course).
You will learn and practice a variety of asanas, classic yogic pranayamas, mudras, Satyananda Yoga Nidra and meditation practices.
The classes offer a well balanced yoga program for body mind and soul.
Early Morning Class
(Tues 6.30am-7.30am)
This class is designed to prepare body, mind & spirit for the day ahead with gentle asanas, pranayama, chanting & meditation.
Early morning is a very peaceful (sattvic) time to do sadhana (spiritual practice). Treat yourself to this experience!
(minimum requirement:10 week introduction course).
Progressive
This is for those who have been attending classes at YOGA for YOU for some time and are interested in extending their repertoire of practices and deepening awareness of the more subtle aspects of our anatomy e.g. nadis, chakras & koshas.
Practices include, asanas, pranayama, mudras & bandhas, selected meditation practices and the use of mantra.
Yoga & Spirituality not available at this stage
Yoga & Spirituality is a 1-year program designed to offer practical yogic tools to help enhance your life. This is a non-religious course and suitable for people of any background, creed or age. It will be an experiential course focused on yogic life skills and will be drawing from various branches of yoga, including Hatha Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Kundalini Yoga & Raja Yoga. Over the year your awareness of your body, breath and mind will deepen and so will your relationship with yourself & life.
Personal home practice (sadhana), diary writing and discussions will be an integral part of this course.

Mantra & Meditation Class
Meditation is a way for connecting with one's inner nature and inner self. Meditation can lead us to peace of mind, balance and harmony. In this course you will be introduced to different meditation practices and the use of mantra.
Regular practice of meditation
• increases focus, balance, clarity and creativity;
• helps us to let go of things that clutter our lives;
• helps to ride the waves of life with greater skill and equanimity.
All sessions will include a short relaxation; a few gentle postures for ease of sitting; pranayama, mudra & bandha for balancing the energy, connecting body and mind, and internalising the awareness.
